Job Purpose:

To assess, monitor, plan, and manage the efficient utilization of cash, funding, and financial services in a manner consistent with the overall objectives of the group companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand, manage, and supervise all aspects of group cash flow
  • Be able to forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions
  • Manage all aspects of in-house investment portfolios (banks / equities / fixed income / money market etc.)
  • Direct and monitor investment portfolios of the group along with Controller – Treasury
  • Manage long-term and short-term investment strategies
  • Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance and what steps / measures need to be undertaken in order to improve the situation
  • Determine the Company’s financial goals and risk tolerance levels
  • Assess risk/return trade-offs with structured guidelines in place
  • Review and recommend changes to the investment policies based on market conditions
  • Prepare or monitor the group’s various cash flow forecasts and be able to perform financial modeling if / when required
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement cash management systems to optimize group cash management efficiencies
  • Be able to understand and manage relevant accounting procedures and processes
  • Take the lead role whilst assisting HOT in managing relationships with financial services providers, banks, asset management companies, financial institutions, regulators etc.
  • Conduct benchmark studies of banks and their services to continuously evaluate which banks are the right fit and perfect partners for the Organization.
  • Evaluate alternative long-term borrowing strategies and make recommendations to HOT in accordance with the capital structure guidelines
  • Evaluate alternative medium-to-long-term equity raising strategies and make recommendations to HOT and CFO in accordance with the capital structure guidelines
  • Recommend, implement and maintain process improvements
  • Additional assignments as advised
  • Conducting financial reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities within the group and business units / operations
  • Developing and nurturing relationships with the appropriate internal and external contacts, e.g. legal, taxation, business heads, treasury, support departments, external stakeholders such as SBP, SECP, Rating Agencies etc.
  • Producing accurate financial analysis reports / feasibilities and meeting specific deadlines
  • Assisting with forecasting analysis for the group and individual businesses
  • Undertaking a continuous P&L analysis of group businesses and corporate customers
  • Undertaking a quarterly / half-yearly review and updation of group financials and financial ratios analysis for the group companies
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
  • Identifying on a quarterly basis the low margin customers and bleeding businesses within the group and providing turnaround or exit recommendations to the Head of Treasury & Corporate Finance and the CFO as well as liaising with the respective Business Heads for timelines and implementation of the turnaround / exit strategy
  • Assisting the Head of Treasury & Corporate Finance in strategic, high-level, confidential investment and/or analysis projects mandated by the Chairman / President / CFO
